I went to kasauli as part of office treat last year…my office gave the whole team an all expense paid trip to kasauli for all the good business done for the whole year…at the time i was going through a lot of emotional stress…and wasn’t in the right frame of mind to enjoy the break……i ahd no clue watsoever how time or space around me was moving…but now im looking back at a lot of things…and realising that i could not enjoy so much because of one thing…why so…dunno….but thank god atleast i can reminiscene back….and the lovely memories are there…to remmeber and feel nice about
it was nice weekend retreat….we were a toal of 12 people…including some field staff…we had hired two qualis…and before starting off..our boss gave us a small but boistreous party….had a lot of booze and all and set off near about midnight from delhi..

now as we had just driven hardly half hour…the our car ran out of gas….wtf!!!…..and all the ladies of the group were in it…!!….our stupid driver had forgot to fill the tank..so it took us around 1 hour to find a gas station ..refill and then set off again…..we thought it was just a minor hiccup…but little did we know..it was the beginning of the troubles…at around 12:30 at night…our car running at around 100km/hr…burst a tyre…wow the sound!!..bang!!!….we were lucky that the car dint turn over…..so the driver changes tyre and strats off…again withing half hour..another tyre goes burst..!!!..now we really at loggrheads..we are in the middle of highway….with nothing in sight…with no spare tyre….the other car stops…and drives back almost for half hour until it finds a car repair shop….by the time its almost dawn..!!!….

anyways finally we arrive in our designated hotel…..after some hiking..as the hotel is located in a no car parking area…and we are ..disappointed!!! i mean the hotel is not what all we had booked..our HR had made online booking through some travel agency…and the rooms looked different….so anyways we had little choice but to settle in for the day…..but luckily the rooms were comfy atleast….and it had a wonderful view….so after getting refreshed…we head for a walk..among the hill roads….

kasauli is a quaint town..still not crowded with tourists..the reason for this is partly due to lack of hotels…..i mean there are good hotels..but very few….nothing like the mushroom like sprouts in mussorie..(and thank god for that!!!)….andpartly due to private cottages…i mean every rich industrialist, socialite and royalty worth his/her salt has a cottage there(scindias, tatas, birlas, etc etc)…and they are such quaint cottages…really beautiful…!!but since they are offlimits..we could only glimpse a bit of them from outside..i tried to click some pics also…

the weather and landscape along the roads was nice and serene..so the walk was pretty nice….soon we came upon sunrise point…personally i dint find it exceptional……

we came across a 203 years old church..the church of england…built during british times..the stained glass paintings and wooden furniture in it were shipped directly from england and asembled here in kasauli…the church had a gothic feel to it….i liked it very much…lit a candle there….

then we came across hanuman mandir(temple)..which was inside the air force base..so all cameras, mobiles were not allowed…the way to hanuman mandir is by a steep climb…whew!!..at times i was out of breath…me whos a regular jogger and hiker….but the view at the top is worth it….sun shining bright….the winds blowing…and lots and lots of greenery..!!!

after we came back to the hotel …there was a small bonefire and dance party..so we all get bloody drunk….dance…and chat up real late……then fall down asleep…..

next day…..we wake up at around 3…and go outside..and wow!!!.the sky is ethereal..!!!..clustered with millions of stars…and the city of chandigarh below looks like a bright tapestry of shining gems…..!!……

and we get ready to head back to the of delhi!!!!

i would recommend kasauli to those who are looking for quick getaway for the weekend..take my word it’s much better than mussourie….just take care with the booking…always book with itdc hotel there!!..it’s the best one!!
