Spring has arrived in my city Delhi and flowers, trees and plants are in full bloom. This season is the time when Delhi sees a myriad number of arts and culture events, making most of the pleasant weather.

One of the most interesting ongoing events taking place this week is the Delhi Week Festival (see www.delhiwalkfestival.com) which has admirably brought together almost all walking tours/groups of Delhi & NCR. The idea is to explore nature, heritage, culture, architecture and arts of Delhi & NCR through curated walks.

I attended Lodhi Garden Tree Walk with Sausage Tree Walk today and it was a delightful experience.

I had booked the walk online through the ‘delhi walk festival’ website and Kavita Prakash of Sausage Tree Walks greeted us early morning at Gate 4 of Lodhi Garden. I have a thing for trees and have this wonderful book by Pradeep Krishen called ‘ Trees of Delhi’ which I had taken along; Kavita showed us 19 trees from the book and also answered queries about any other trees we asked her about.

She was so passionate about the trees and we all felt her enthusiasm infectious!

She enncouraged to touch the trees, feel the leaves and flowers. It was after many years I actually touched a tree bark and it was a wonderful feeling. She had also brought along specimens of seeds of some trees, which I thought was really interactive way to engage walkers.

We also had some fun times posing with some of the flowers & seeds we found in the ground near each tree. And ofcourse we spotted some magnificient trees.

I totally loved my Lodhi Tree Walk experience with Sausage Tree Nature Walks and recommend booking tours with them if you have interested in trees and fauna of Delhi/NCR.
