As a vegetarian (actually eggitarian) I always get limited menu options in breakfast/lunch buffets at 5 star restaurants. So, it was a delight for me to lunch at Mosaic Restaurant, Crowne Plaza at Rohini, Delhi fortnight back.
It took me almost 2 hours (and my other blogger friends forever) to reach Crowne Plaza Rohini , but all my tiredness took a backseat by the warm welcome of the staff and the refreshing drink of the day - Fresh apple, beetroot and celery juice; it was refreshing and as Charis rightly said, it was the most prettiest looking drink we ever laid our eyes upon!!
As soon as I settled down, I headed towards the Salad counter. The salad counter was most exhaustive with a number of fresh vegetables and one also had the option of making own salad. I had a a small helping each of Greek Salad, Asparagus with Palm Heart Salad, Haricot Beans with Feta, Marinated Zucchini with Prunes, Spicy Chickpeas and Tomato Salad, Nutty Beetroot Salad, which made my platter quite a big one.
In addition, I also got myself a custom made salad choosing vegetable of my choice and dressing from the counter.
Next, I shifted my focus too the grilled vegetables counter and found to my delight a wonderful assortment of vegetables which would be grilled and served. I ordered baby corn, red and yellow bell peppers and french beans.
Next, I had vegetarian dumpling, which I absolutely loved!!
After the mega platter of salads, grilled vegetables and dumplings, I was way too full to try the main course. My friend Ruchira, did try a few things from the main course and liked them. My other friend Aishwarya also tried pasta and liked it a lot.
After taking brief break chatting with my friends and having 2 more glasses of the wonderful apple beetroot celery juice, I finally made some space for the desserts. The dessert menu was again exhaustive and though I eat eggs, I was delighted that it had so many egg less options!!
I tried StrawberrySoufflé, Berry Baked Yoghurt (Egg Less), Crème Bruléé, Dark Chocolate Profiteroles and Strawberry Gateaux (Egg Less). Except the Crème Bruléé, which I thought was not qualified to be called so, I relished all the desserts on my plate.
On my asking about the exhaustive vegetarian options in the buffet menu, the PR informed us that majority of the patrons coming to the restaurant are vegetarians, therefore, the menu has been designed keeping in mind the clientele.
I really loved the menu and the exhaustive and more importantly tasty options for the vegetarians at Mosaic and would like to come back here again!!
