Out of all the sarees owned by me...this pristine white traditional sari cotton sari with golden border (called kerala saree) is the one i have not worn for the longest time.
I have had this beautiful saree since last 4 years, very lovingly bought by the husband during our honeymoon( in Kerala and kept in wraps.
Since, we live in north India where colorful sarees are more the norm at festive occasions/parties, I never got around to wearing this.
But on a recent holiday to the south (India), I wore this on a morning visit to the temple.
Do I look like a vision in white???
Kerala Sarees are called so because they are the traditional sarees made exclusively in the state of Kerala and are worn during all festive/religious/social occasions here.
Their back ground is always white with gold border, however, the borders themselves come in a lot of styles and widths.

I love the simplicity and elegance of Kerala Sarees!! I have one too but it's been worn just once :-(
I'm glad you got a chance to wear this sari! It brought a smile to my face because I have a dear 'aunty' in Singapore who wore such Kerala saris on special occasions- and your sari reminded me of her- such GREAT memories...especially of her delicious milk coffee which she always had available in her kitchen- I loved her dearly!!
Yes you do! :D
I love such simple sarees... they are so elegant!

Sure you do!I'm a sucker for everything white, nude or candy. So,goes without saying that yours is one of my all time favorites.I also love the sari for its simplicity-such a refreshing change from all the heavy embroideries, bright colors, zaris and zardosis!
You wear it well!

You look stunning sweetie! :) Love the look! Really pretty. Hope your South trip was fun and you had a great time! :)
kasavu saree that's what we call em...U will get the traditional weaves as either sarees(single piece) or as set mundu(2 piece). The drape of set mundu is very different. Looking elegant:)
Nice! I too love white sarees with golden borders. They look elegant. :) Is it the same temple where treasure was found?
