Hair today.., Gone tomorrow

This post was sparked off as an afterthought of a colleague’s casual remark over our usual girl talk at office, who said this “ as far as hairstyles go, you're a chameleon!!!...”
I was puzzled, well, what do you mean??? She said “well, since the time you have been working here, we have so many frequent hairdo changes on you that we are really not sure what you’ll turn up the next day!!”....hmmmmmm , Now I got it!!

Well, I love my hair and as much as I love it, I like to keep giving it a new shape & style..for me, it’s like rediscovering myself all over again and also to explore my personal sense of style & fashion.
Unlike a lot of women & girls, I have no qualms of cutting my hair short, growing it long and again giving myself willingly to the hairdresser to get it shaped short, medium or any style as long as it looks dashing on me!!!..and most of the hairdressers I have been to, find me an absolute delight , as they rarely get clients who are so willing to experiment…..

So, coming to this post….well, I devoted a bit of my free time to do a R&D into the journey of my hair (styles) , hope you’ll enjoy…
The journey begins, April 2006 (I couldn’t find any digital pics predating 2006!!...)..
I was just leaving college and starting on my first job, had got blonde highlights done in the last semester of college, which were growing out…

By June-July 2006, I was kinda bored of the not so fast outgrowing blonde hair..so I got my hairdresser to get me into a hairstyle would annihilate the last remains of the blonde highlights and also a cute medium hairdo, this is what I got…

Which in 3-4 months, grew into this..

Which I quite liked, so just got my hair trimmed for the next 2-3 months…but me being me, got myself a mahogany hair color done…and it looked quite amazing on my skintone!!..see below
(btw tweaked the pic a bit to show the hair color more prominently)…

After that, there was a long duration, whererin I got engaged and since my wedding date was set in Winter 2007, I was not allowed (by mum ofcourse!!) to do any experimentation on my hair till I got married( I guess she thought I might shave off my head on a whim and be the first clean shaven bride in our family!!!!)
As soon as I got married and honeymooning over, first thing I did was to get a haircut..this is what I got…

Which grew into this..

And then , i was majorly wishing for some bangs , so I got myself just that!!.....

The bangs became a tad too long for comfort(which they usually do after some time!!)..and I went for this comfy wavy look..

And then…..came winters 2008 and I was suddenly feeling weighed down by all the hair on my head, it seemed too long to wash my hair, too long to get them dried naturally, too much fuss to get them blow dried, so one fine day I just went ahead and got myself a super short pageboy crop!!
It was so exhilarating that I even wrote a post to express my feelings (click here to read).

And as short crops tend to take time and various shapes before they grow to some considerable lengths, so did mine….
It became this

And then this

And finally this…

I loved all the phases of my hair growth in this period and the various styles I went through naturally!....
But it was time again for something new and went to a new hairdresser, who really was innovative and gave me an amazingly good mid length asymmetrical bob...

Which, after some time, I got changed to a short bob

And then into a symmetrical bob..

By then, 8 months had gone by and I was ready to move out of my bob phase…so I waited till I could to grow my hair and then asked my hairdresser to gimme something new…he gave me this..

And after some time, I got myself this…, which was September 2010, whew!! Doesn’t time pass so quick!!....

Coming to now, the last haircut I got was in December 2010, a short blunt cut, which was perfect for the beach holiday I was embarking on at that time…

And am again growing my hair for my next look, I dunno wats its gonna be but whatever it is.....
It will be fun!!!!!
Btw, which one of my hairdos do you prefer??

Such an interesting hair journey! Really, our hair and haircuts tell so much about us at a given time. In college I had coloured hair and now that I am working my hair needs to be managable and look porfessional! Ah, difficult to say which I like better, I prefer you with a little bit of lenght, I think it goes better when one wants to wear Indian clothes. I love the June -July 2006 pic, you look sooooooo hot! :) Also you look adorable in bangs :)

i love the way you have put your "hair" together in one post.
i had made a resolution not to cut my hair this year but broke it a few days ago by getting the ghajini look!

Wow, what an amazing array of styles! I like the short bob best but you look great in all of them.

p.s. I'd love a closet full of designer shoes too!

Wow you've experimented with your hair quite a bit! I think what matters is which hairdo you feel confident in, rather than which one I like! :)

Lots of hair here..Once I saw the statement "it’s like rediscovering myself all over again and also to explore my personal sense of style & fashion." I understood why.. Liked the cute background image too!
