School days are the best part of our lives, its only that we realise it much much later on....as My blogger friend AmitL rightly says.
Till today, my closest friends are those from my school days...
So i was very much eager to do this tag about school days , which AmitL has tagged me (albeit a lit late :P, koi nahi amit ji , chalta hai!!)
What was your favorite back to school item to buy?
Well, my most favorite items were ice creams and marble sodas (kancha sodas), which our group of friends would have after school hours as we waited for our respective school buses. There were many mobile vendors (thellewallahs!!) selling these right outside our school, where buses used to be parked to take us back home and it was fun hanging out before our gang broke up for the day.
What was your favorite subject in school?
English, i used to dig this subject literally!!.....besides sports, my other favourite activity was to read books, cartoons and fiction ..and my favourites were archies, hardy boys, enid blyton(especially famous five, secret seven & mallory towers).
Like u amitL, if i would not have gone for engineering, i would have done English honors!!
Did you ride the bus or get a ride from Mom/Carpool?
I took the bus for major part of my school days, as we used to live a bit far away from our school. however, for around 3 years, we were located pretty close to our school, so me and brother used to walk to and from from school, and it was fun!!!
Do you have a sack lunch or cafeteria food?
Always packed lunch from home, but quite a lot of times, used to buy the junk food from cafeteria also, simple coz it was fun!!!
What is your favorite memory from your school days?
Lots!!!!.....a few i recount here...
- School bunking!!..our group was the back bencher s & sporty kind.. all of us in our group were in some or the other school sports team(me basketball, athletics and kho kho) and we were kind of given concession to skip certain number of classes to practice for our games. So we used to tell our teachers(of the subjects we dint like!!) that we were being called for practice and then told our games teacher that we haven't been given permission...and then , we used to slip away from school to our favorite hangout, priya cinema complex!!..luckily for us, the respective teachers never verified from each other the fact whether we were present at the other's sessions, otherwise we would have landed in deep soup!!!!
- Winning the inter-school 100m dash, organised by another school, we were the dark horses and i was not supposed to participate as some other girl was finalized, but i dunno what went thorough my sports teacher's head at the last minute...he told me to go instead of her...and i won!!!...it felt great!!
- Beating the school topper in english in XII, i had not got the maximum but more than the girl who always used to get maximum and was the teacher's favorite. I had changed schools in XIth standard and in the new school, there were established favorties and though i always felt i was the better one in english, i used to get 2-3 marks less than the teacher's favorite student, which i thought was biased..i was redeemed beautifully when i was way ahead of her in XII board english marks, and just 2 marks less than the topper.
Wow! that was one fun down the memory lane trip!!!...
So, i wanna hear from some of my favorite bloggers and therefore i tag:
Anupama(Volatile Spirits)
Globe Trotter
Hippie Holly Simple Sally( request both of u to do this one!!)
Austere
